Convert HEIC to PNG Free
Convert HEIC images to lossless PNG format. Perfect for editing workflows that require transparency support.
Converting HEIC to PNG gives you a lossless copy of your iPhone photo in a universally supported format. PNG preserves every pixel of the source exactly, with no further compression artifacts on top of whatever HEIC already encoded. That makes it the right choice when you intend to edit the image, when transparency matters, or when you need a format that any software can read without complaint.

About this conversion
When PNG beats JPG for HEIC conversion
Choose PNG over JPG when the image will go through additional editing or compositing — every JPG re-save throws away a little more data, while PNG never loses anything. Choose PNG for screenshots taken on an iPhone (iOS sometimes saves these as HEIC), for diagrams or scanned text where edge sharpness matters, or for any image you plan to layer onto a background that requires transparency.
PNG file sizes are larger
A PNG converted from HEIC is typically several times larger than the source HEIC and noticeably larger than the equivalent JPG. This is because PNG uses lossless compression — every pixel is preserved exactly. If file size matters more than perfect fidelity, JPG or WebP is usually a better destination format.
Transparency in HEIC
HEIC supports an alpha channel for transparency, but iPhone camera photos do not use it. When converting a regular HEIC photo to PNG, the result will be a fully opaque image. If your HEIC file does include transparency (for example, a HEIC graphic exported from a design tool), ImageFixer preserves the alpha channel in the PNG output.
Privacy and processing
The conversion happens entirely in your browser using libheif and a PNG encoder compiled to WebAssembly. Your photos are never sent to a server. Convert as many HEIC files to PNG as you want — there is no per-file fee, no upload, and no rate limit.
